A masterful example of a perfect combination of style and substance, No More Heroes for the Wii is the brainchild of director Suda51 of the talented Grasshopper studios. Having worked together with Capcom legend Shinji Mikami on Grasshoppers previous title Killer 7, Suda51 then set about injecting a large chunk of the style found in that game into a title which is a much more cohesive experience.
No More Heroes, in lamens terms, plays like the bastardised cel shaded hybrid of Grand Theft Auto, Shenmue & Devil May Cry and it's memorable boss encounters bring to mind classic encounters from the Metal Gear Solid series, these encounters form many of the highlights within the game.
The stylish cel-shaded look of No More Heroes is fantastic and mixed in with a quality soundtrack and some masterful use of the Wii Remote makes this THE game to play if you own a Wii. Like many of the titles i feature on this blog No More Heroes didn't sell too well here in the UK so can be picked up for under £10, which is an absolute steal for such a great game!
